Of all the birds of the Douro, the Papa Figos is one of the rarest. A migratory bird with bright and attractive colors. The unique and rare character of this bird is the perfect inspiration for this magnificent wine from Casa Ferreirinha. Papa Figos is a red wine from the Douro, ideal both for everyday consumption and for special occasions. An elegant and at the same time vibrant wine, classic and simultaneously modern, which translates the essential values of Casa Ferreirinha, the house with the greatest tradition in producing quality wines from the Douro and one of the world's leading references for this region. The selected grapes come from the Douro Superior sub-region, namely from Quinta da Leda and from growers who have vineyards preferably facing north and in higher altitude areas. The optimal ripeness and acidity of the grapes are rigorously controlled. After destemming and crushing, the grapes are sent to stainless steel tanks, where the maceration of the skins takes place - gently and at controlled temperatures - along with alcoholic fermentation.
