Whisky Nikka Coffey Grain

Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky is an original single grain whisky, mainly distilled from corn, in a Coffey still. It becomes even more unique in that it is mostly corn, as in the old days, while most modern whiskies are derived from wheat. The corn gives the whisky a rich and rounded texture, and intense aromas. This grain whisky is now an essential component of Nikka blends. The distillation process is continuous, whereas the stills used for Single Malts require two separate distillations. Nikka has two Coffey stills at its Miyagikyo distillery for making its grain whiskies. Imported from Scotland in 1963, these old stills produce very rounded spirits, with a distinctive character that defines Nikka's signature blends.
