Porto Ferreira White

Ferreira Branco is a classic white Vinho do Porto, an attractive and rich wine, with the genuine flavor of the best wines produced in the Douro region with the care and knowledge accumulated over more than 250 years of excellence that make Ferreira the oldest and most celebrated Portuguese Vinho do Porto brand in the world. Handpicked at their optimal point, the grapes are destemmed and vinified according to the traditional Vinho do Porto method. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures and is stopped by the addition of grape spirit at the moment considered ideal by the winemaker. Each grape variety has its ideal fermentation stop point, determined by the wine's density, ripeness richness, and desired final sweetness. The final balance between the body and aroma of the Vinho do Porto comes from the combination of the different characteristics of the multiple grape varieties used. The wine remains in the Douro where the winter cold helps the sedimentation of the lees. The following spring, after being clarified, it is transported to the Ferreira cellars in V.N.Gaia and placed in oak barrels where it will age over several years, acquiring the incomparable style of the Ferreira brand. During aging, the wines are cared for and tasted by the enology team who blend them until reaching the final blend with the characteristics and style of Porto Ferreira Branco. The selected wines are usually between 2 and 5 years old, ensuring a final rich and balanced wine, about 3 years old.
