Porto Offley Ruby

Offley Ruby is a young red Vinho do Porto, an accessible classic created to satisfy the numerous enthusiasts of this style by Offley, the prestigious brand that combines contemporaneity with nearly three centuries of experience. Offley Porto Ruby is produced according to the traditional Vinho do Porto method. The hand-picked grapes are destemmed and crushed, followed by fermentation with skin maceration to extract the best constituents. The addition of grape spirit establishes the balance between the body and aroma of the wine, with the ideal moment determined by the Enology team after rigorous control of fermentation temperatures and densities, a factor that varies according to the grape variety, degree of ripeness, and desired final sweetness. The wines remain in the Douro until they are transported to V.N.Gaia the following spring, where they enter Offley's century-old cellars for aging in oak wood barrels according to the traditional Vinho do Porto system. Over the years, the wines are carefully racked, tasted, and analyzed, and the final blend is crafted to maintain the style and character of Offley Porto Ruby. The selected wines are generally between 2 and 5 years old, allowing for a fresh and young wine with an average age of 3 years. The final blend is filtered and cold stabilized before bottling.
