Periquita Red 2023

Periquita wine is known as the first bottled red wine in Portugal. This innovation reflects its originality, and the essence of Portuguese identity is evident in its presence on the tables of all Portuguese people since 1850. To ours, to the Portuguese way of life! The wine produced in Cova da Periquita immediately proved to be the best in the region, leading other owners to ask José Maria da Fonseca for cuttings of that grape variety to plant on their own properties. In this way, the wine became known in Azeitão as Periquita wine, and it began to be marketed by José Maria da Fonseca as Periquita.
