Quinta Das Bágeiras Reserve Red 2022

Winemaking of Quinta das Bageiras Reserva Red Wine: some of its Baga grapes come from old vines, but in years when there is no cellar stock and there is a reserve, a retention of grapes from the old vines is destined for this wine. These grapes are fermented for 5 to 8 days in an open lagar without destemming (do not remove the berries from the cluster). Then, remontage is done with wooden masses several times a day until the correct intensity is reached. Afterwards, the wine finishes fermenting in old wooden vats. While resting, it is clarified and aged in the same barrels for about 18 months. It is bottled without any fining or filtration. All these processes are done manually.
