Borba Reserva Cork Label Red Magnum 2022

With grapes from the most typical Alentejo varieties, produced in the Borba sub-region, the Rótulo Cortiça wine was made, a true ex-libris of Adega de Borba. Coming from old vines, the grapes underwent strict control during the ripening process and were harvested in small quantities. At the winery, after destemming and gentle crushing of the grapes, alcoholic fermentation began and lasted about 10-15 days at a controlled temperature of 24ºC, to better extract the fruity aromas and flavors of the grape. To increase the polyphenolic complexity, tannins, and structure of the wine, it remained in the vat in a post-fermentation maceration process. Malolactic fermentation then took place in stainless steel containers. To enhance and elevate its organoleptic characteristics, the wine aged for 12 months in 3rd and 4th year French oak barrels and exotic wood casks, followed by 6 months of bottle aging in the cellar.
