Porto Fonseca Tawny

The Porto Fonseca Tawny ages for three years in small wooden casks of approximately 630 liters. As the Porto Tawny wine matures in the cask, it gradually loses the deep "ruby" red color of its youth and begins to acquire the charming amber hue, known in English as "tawny". At the same time, the wine becomes progressively softer and more velvety, and its aromas gain richness and complexity. After three years of aging and shortly before bottling, the wines are blended to achieve the best balance and harmony. Fonseca's tawnies are bottled for immediate consumption.
