Porto Offley Rose

Offley Rosé is a young and versatile Porto Wine, the latest proposal from the brand that combines modernity with nearly three centuries of experience. The new Offley Rosé combines the freshness and delicacy characteristic of a rosé wine with the elegance and charisma normally associated with Porto Wine. The versatility of Offley Rosé takes Porto Wine down paths never before explored. Offley Porto Rosé is vinified according to the traditional methods used in rosé wines. The grapes, handpicked, are destemmed, crushed, and immediately pressed to avoid prolonged contact with the skins, where the color is concentrated, producing pink musts. This is followed by a gentle decanting to remove larger particles, after which cold fermentation takes place. As with other Porto Wines, fermentation is stopped by the addition of a grape spirit, resulting in a fortified wine. The wines remain in the Douro until transported to Offley's century-old cellars in V.N.Gaia the following spring, where it matures in stainless steel tanks to maintain its original freshness and avoid excessive oxidation. The wine is tasted several times until it is considered to be at the ideal stage of maturation to create the final blend. This is then cold stabilized before bottling.
