Quinta das Carvalhas is a property of great beauty and spectacularity, with a dominant position on the left bank slope of the Douro River in Pinhão, extending along the slopes of the right bank of the tributary Rio Torto. The oldest written references about the Quinta date back to 1759. Age-indicated Ports are a blend of several years that have developed a refined flavor as a result of aging in selected oak barrels, which provide the typical aging and character of Old Tawnies. The wisdom and skill of the cellar master are essential when blending old and rare Tawnies, where only the best Ports that have stood the test of time are selected. The result is a Tawny aged to supreme quality and rarity, with the average age indicated on the label.
