Quinta Dos Carvalhais Harvest Red 2022

Quinta dos Carvalhais Colheita is a red wine from Dão of exceptional quality, the highest expression of elegance and richness. Heir to ancient knowledge, Quinta dos Carvalhais combines experience with innovation to create very elegant wines, with flavors of intense delicacy and the unique personality of the region. The grapes were harvested by variety and by plot, with a rigorous qualitative selection carried out at the time. After gentle destemming and pressing, the grapes go by gravity to small stainless steel tanks with temperature control, where they are vinified, variety by variety. Alcoholic fermentation took place over about 8 days, at an average temperature of around 27ºC, with Touriga Nacional remaining in post-fermentation maceration for another 10 days. This wine was aged in used French oak barrels for a period of 12 months. The final blend was made based on the qualitative selection of numerous tastings and analyses carried out during this period, which allowed the best wines to be chosen, variety by variety. The wine underwent a light fining and filtration before bottling and was bottled without cold stabilization treatment, which may cause sediment formation during its aging in the bottle.
